My new boyfriend...

This is Michael...we met at the Phoenix Zoo and stared into each other's eyes for quite some time when we first met face-to-face...we played rock, paper, scissors...his rock crushed my scissors.
Jayyyy kayyyy...but it IS Michael, the male Orangutan at the zoo. I took the kid to go see the new enclosure/habitat and it was AWESOME! We were so close to all of the 'tans...like a 2" thick piece of glass away and I'm telling you this right now...when one of these creatures chooses YOU to sit right in front of and stares right back at you, there's something that stirs the Soul...I dunno what it is exactly, but it's something tangible...you can just FEEL it...like a connection, or a sense of responsibility, or sadness...all mixed together. It was a beautiful moment.

Easter's coming!!

My latest post on Turbobubblegum.blogspot.com has step-by-step instructions on how to make these bubble wands. I used to make star shaped ones all the time for the 4th of July parade and party when I lived in LaVerne, CA but only made 'em once since moving to AZ, and that was for Bazzill Basics Paper for an idea book. I kinda miss making these...so I thought since it's my turn for a new post, why not try and make some Easter-themed wands...so I made an egg shape, a butterfly which turned out to be a bunny (weird, but all-right...) and a flower shape.

so THEN I went crazy with Easter table decor and found some things, made some things and just had a TONNA fun doing it!

so...I've decided...

this is my favorite shoot location...some abandoned property that is going into foreclosure but has the best little spots for backgrounds. i really wish i would hurry up and get rich so i could buy it. i wouldn't change a thing...well, maybe i might bulldoze the house and build a new one and, well, I might move the pile of branches to the back part of the property...and I'd straighten up the chicken coop and the barn and shed...but i'd make it look like it was SUPPOSED to be a little messy...and overgrown...meh...whatever. for now it works for me...let's just hope nobody buys it anytime soon, or if someone does, that I can bribe them with a batch of waffle cookies every time I shoot there...
